Olivia Newton-John and Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), Xanadu (1980)

Xanadu was a film starring Olivia Newton-John that was released in 1980 to very disappointing critics reviews. The soundtrack, which was recorded by Olivia Newton-John with the help of Electric Light Orchestra, would also fare poorly. Olivia was displeased with the way that she had been portrayed on the cover and ordered the production of the record to be stopped. Under 30 records made it through the actress’s purge. Amazingly, one of these ultra-rare records will now sell for $9,100.

Hank Mobley – Blue Notes 1568 (1957)

Serious jazz fans will tell you how important Hank Mobley was to jazz’s development, even if he wasn’t as recognized as figures like Miles Davis or John Coltrane. There was a big problem with one of Mobley’s records, called Blue Notes 1568, pertaining to a dire shortage of labels. As in the sticky notes, not record labels! This then led to a dire shortage of both versions of the addresses on the records, “47 West 63rd NYC” and “47 West 63rd New York 23”. Both are worth around $11,100.
