XTC – Science Friction (1977)

XTC is a forerunner in what is known as the new wave subgenre. It came out during the 1970s when British music was taking some incredibly experimental directions. The first press was in the 12” format, prior to being narrowed to a 7” format. The smaller edition can earn you a lot of money – $2,000! You can believe that this record is incredibly scarce with a resale value like that. Only 50 copies were released.

David Bowie – The Prettiest Start (1973)

There are few artists more fabulously recognizable than David Bowie. This wonderful performer and songwriter released all manner of incredibly successful albums. The Prettiest Star was an ode to Angela Barnett, the late artist’s ex-wife. He once telephoned Barnett and began singing the song to the woman. Mark Bolan is responsible for the guitar work on this record, a man to who Bowie would later become an antagonist. The Prettiest Start’s resale value is $2,000.
