Tommy Johnson – Alcohol and Jake Blues (1930)

Alcohol and Jake Blues by Tommy Johnson came out in 1930 and was a fantastic if not obscure release. There was a very tiny amount of records that survived all the way through to the 21st century. Someone in North Carolina luckily managed to find a copy and could not believe how profitable their auction turned out on eBay. The bidding went all the way up to $37,000 and eventually went to a gentleman called John Tefteller.

Prince – The Black Album

Prince was quite a superstitious and spiritual artist that always made sure that his records were imbued with positive vibes. During the production of ‘The Funk Bible’, Prince decided that the records had been possessed by evil spirits and had to be promptly taken off the shelves. Unfortunately for Prince’s public protection campaign, the record had been pirated and survived illegally. It was only in 1994 that Prince concluded that the album was cleansed and could be sold once more. Today, this record will sell for about $42,300, unsealed.
